Cohort 1 scholar, Latia Wade Hickerson, MPH, MSN, RN, WHNP-BC, was recently profiled in the Houston Chronicle. Hickerson is pursuing her PhD at the University of Texas Health Science Center. She became interested in women’s health issues, teen pregnancy and parenthood, and rapid repeat teenage pregnancy, after witnessing the associated socioeconomic burdens and health disparities.
