Ethan Cicero

Ethan Cicero, BSN, RN, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholar, is pursuing his PhD in Nursing with a focus on the health disparities experienced by the transgender population. He is also interested in exploring the variables associated with the discrimination transgender people face in access to health care. Cicero is passionate about creating health equity for all transgender patients by shaping a workforce of competent, knowledgeable, and compassionate providers.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Highest Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Cicero works as a critical care nurse on the Medicine Progressive Care Unit at UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC. Prior to his nursing career, he worked as a Firefighter/EMT and also in health care marketing and advertising.

Cicero lives in Durham, NC.
